The last Fuega at Downside Up until spring. From October the series moves to house and garden milongas across the Valley, and we return to Downside Up around April 2027.
Fuega is a milonga alternative. Instead of traditional tango orchestras, the floor runs on jazz, soul, rock and edgy contemporary — played in tandas, with a cortina between each one so the floor clears and partners change. If you dance tango, the structure will feel familiar. If you don't, you'll pick it up in an evening.
The night opens with a Tango Fusion practica an hour before the dance — an open floor to warm up on, work something out, and find your feet before the music turns. It is practice rather than instruction. New dancers are welcome and no partner is needed; most people arrive on their own.
From 10:30 to 11:15 we play the biggest songs of the night — the flower dances. If someone caught your eye on the floor, that's the moment to bring them a rose. Bring one if you have one, or just bring the moment.

Shoes that spin, and flowers if you have them — $5 off with flowers. Dance or milonga-casual attire, no partner needed. Downside Up is a licensed venue, so no outside food or drink — flowers are welcome.
