AcroYoga in Phoenix

Two people, gravity, and someone watching out for you. Classes and jams around the city — none of them ours. We list them because they are worth going to.

Never done it?

You do not need a partner — people pair up as they arrive. Come for the class rather than only the jam: someone is actually teaching, which is a gentler door than walking into open play. Everyone there was new once and most of them remember it. You do not need to be strong or flexible either. The base lies down and uses their legs, the flyer balances, and a third person spots. All three are real jobs and none of them is showing off.

Bring water, wear something you can move in, and expect to spend the first half hour laughing at how hard the easy things are. Outdoors by the lake, so check the weather.

Where to find a jam

Tuesdays, 7:30 PM — class and jam · Tempe Town Lake

Phoenix Acro

A class and an open jam, both on Tuesday, outdoors by the water. The class is the easier door if you are new — someone is actually teaching — and the jam is where people pair up and play. You are not expected to bring a partner, and most people do not.
